User consultation

ESA Storm Surge preparatory User Consultation

A user consultation meeting to prepare for a potential ESA Storm Surge project has been held in Venezia the 17-18 September.

40 + participants from ESA member states, Canada, Australia, Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, Puerto Rico attended. International organisation such as UNESCO and its Intergovernmental Oceaographic Commission were co-organizing the meeting with the Agency. The operation centre of the Venezia municipality for "Acqua alta" (high water events) as well as the North West Shelf Operational Oceanographic System (NOOS) laid down very clear requirement to access improved NRT wind field from scatterometer, SAR and altimeter data in Near Real Time.

The overall meeting conclusions report is available here.

If you would like to contribute your user requirements to ESA or become a Champion user for the storm surge project, please take a look at the User Requirements feedback template as well as the Letter of Commitment.
