SPIHRAL
SPatial Integration of Hydrological Monitoring and Remote Sensing Applications
Development of two remote sensing based modules in an existing spatial hydrological simulation model (STREAM) for the monitoring of the impacts of climate change on snow cover dynamics and for the assessment of impacts of flooding on population growth and on agricultural production.

The SPIHRAL project (SPatial Integration of Hydrological monitoring and Remote Sensing AppLications) aimed at using an existing hydrologic simulation instrument (STREAM) for the analysis of the impacts of climate change on the hydrology of the basin. In order to use the existing instrument STREAM for detailed river basin monitoring in South Asia the instrument has been expanded during the SPIHRAL project with two remote sensing modules:
Furthermore, the SPIHRAL project aimed at facilitating the implementing of a remote sensing infrastructure related to river basin management in South Asia and at embedding remote sensing based data within the EGIS programme. |
