The overall goal of “SAR for REDD” is to provide the user organisation Observatoir Satellitale des Forêts d’Afrique Centrale (OSFAC) with an automatic and operational SAR pre-processing tool, to enhance their remote sensing and analysis ability beyond the commonly used optical data sets. It addresses the GFOI research priorities sensor interoperability and forest degradation over a site the Democratic Republic of Congo. Synergy between SAR and optical sensors will be analysed for operation tropical forest monitoring in the REDD context. |
