 Objectives

The goal of the GlobVolcano project was to demonstrate EO integrated services in the field of early warning of volcanic risks on a worldwide selection of volcanoes with active participation of mandated user organisations. The project acted as platform to users and service providers to harmonise information needs and develop a set of key tools addressing them.

The GlobVolcano project objectives were to:

  • Define EO based services for volcanic observatories based on the user requirements;
  • Integrate latest EO technology with state of the art ground based observations;
  • Demonstrate and implement the services at various volcanic observatories and other mandated organisations e.g. civil protection agencies;
  • Validate of the services;
  • Develop and maintain a "Globvolcano database".
