The PERSIA project (PER.S.I.A. stands for PERmanent Scatterers Information system Analysis) aimed at upgrading the use of the Permanent Scatterers technique to a large-scale and daily method for monitoring land surface stability and instability. The PS technique had already been demonstrated as suitable for users, with different (lower) costs with respect to other techniques, based over e.g. GPS monitoring campaigns. The possibility to increase the Permanent Scatterers network over the interested areas, still at low cost and with high return, had been also demonstrated, in case of low data availability. Considering this basis, the PERSIA Project was aimed at analysing the possibility of a large scale application, achieving the design of a PS Service Chain. In order to achieve the project objectives, the study approach was conceived in order to fully cover both scientific and technological aspects related to the design of the PS Service Chain. |
