The POLPO project aimed at providing the end users (Environmental Departments) a tool to evaluate the severity, the spread and the dislocation of pollution plumes. The emission transport across country boundaries is important for future emission trading. A prototype tool was developed for monitoring large pollution plumes. The potential of combining ground (in-situ) measurements, ground based column measurements and satellite pollution data for air pollution observation was tested within the project mainframe. |
